Episode Detail: Second Sight: Kingdom of the Blind - Mystery!

“Second Sight: Kingdom of the Blind” (Part 1 of two). The head of a community center that Tanner's son Sam (Benjamin Smith) attends is murdered. Race hatred seems to be the motive (the man was a black community leader), but a blind ex-gangster (Peter Vaughan) with whom Tanner (Clive Owen) comes to feel a strange kinship has another explanation. Meanwhile, Marilyn Tanner's fiance has a job opportunity in Toronto---a prospect that doesn't please Sam. Pewsey: Rupert Holliday Evans. Boyd: Mark Bazeley. Chancellor: Leslie Vickerage.

Premise: Whodunits, courtroom dramas and suspense tales make up this often brilliant anthology. It features adaptations of tales by myriad classic mystery writers, from Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie to Dick Francis and John Mortimer, with such notable figures as Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Adam Dalgliesh, Inspector Morse and Rumpole of the Bailey. Among its best episodes are several `Prime Suspect' cases (with Helen Mirren), which have also aired on `Masterpiece Theatre.'
