Trainer Wally Hogan (Bob Hope) ditches the boxing ring for an army fling to look after his drafted prizefighter but is left holding the laces when the boxer is discharged -- until boot camper Herbert Tuttle (Mickey Rooney) offers to be his next contender. But the bigger prospect is Tuttle's comely aunt Connie (Marilyn Maxwell), who owns a restricted-access nightclub. So Hogan takes on Tuttle, the pair become MPs and the follies hit full swing.
