  • Co-founded Apple Computer Inc. with Steve Jobs in 1976; subsequently helped to create the personal computing industry with his Apple I and Apple II computers.
  • Suffered from temporary amnesia after crashing his light aircraft on takeoff in 1981.
  • Left Apple in 1985 to pursue other business and philanthropy ventures, such as increasing computer capabilities in public schools.
  • Awarded the National Medal of Technology in 1985; inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame in 2000.
  • Released his autobiography, iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon, in 2006.
