Was briefly a rapper, one-half of the hip-hop duo the Whooliganz, in the early '90s.
Left the Whooliganz to study acting at the Playhouse West in Los Angeles.
Made his feature-film debut with 1995's A Boy Called Hate, in which his dad, James, portrayed his on-screen father.
Returned to his roots at the Playhouse West in 2001 to codirect and star in Almost Love, a play that he also wrote.
Wrote and starred in the 2009 film Mercy, which also featured his dad, James, in the role of his on-screen father.
