Made his film debut in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969).
Romanced his future wife, The Graduate star Katharine Ross, on the set of the 1979 mystery The Legacy. Although the two had both worked on Butch Cassidy, he as a bit player and she as the female lead, they had never met.
Vocal performance of Ben the Cow in the 2006 animated feature Barnyard included a cover of the Tom Petty-Jeff Lynne tune "I Won't Back Down."
Additional vocal credits: was the voice of Smokey the Bear in a series of wildfire-prevention PSA's; introduced the teams at the 2011 Super Bowl.
