Episode Recap: 300 Patients | ER | 12/7/2007
As we celebrated the landmark 300th outing of ER tonight with a rare episode directed by series executive producer John Wells, I was thrilled to see the powerhouse acting of Maura Tierney and Goran Visnjic as the centerpiece of the episode. For those of us who have been fans since that very first episode 14 years ago (is that even possible?), it is gratifying to see this show still telling compelling, heartfelt stories about characters that we care about. I haven’t always liked where the story went, but I’ve certainly enjoyed the ride. Thank God Abby finally came clean to Luka. I honestly didn’t think I was going to be able to take much more of “relapse Abby” and I was so relieved that all the secrets and lies were out on the table. There are a million things I could say about the unfortunate timing of Abby’s disclosure in the wake of Luka’s loss, but my complaint would be mostly about the acrobatics that the writers have had to perform to work... read more

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) will portray Thomas Kinkade in The Christmas Cottage, the first of three planned films inspired by the painter and his works.... Per Variety, Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Sean Penn will star in Crossing Over, a drama about illegal immigration.... Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in an adaptation of the David Ignatius novel Body of Lies. Ridley Scott will direct.... Larry the Cable Guy is a small-town sheriff in Witless Protection, costarring Ivana Milicevic (Love Monkey), Peter Stormare (Prison Break) and Joe Montegna. read more
Badfella: Ray Liotta Charged with DUI | Today's News: Our Take | 2/19/2007
Ray Liotta (Smith?) was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, then later released after posting $15,000 bail, after crashing his car into two parked vehicles in Pacific Palisades on Saturday evening. No one was injured in the incident, reports the Associated Press, and Liotta was alone in his car. read more

Now that is what I call a dream. Yowza. I think we have established that Parminder Nagra and John Stamos have some chemistry. (For more on the lovebirds, check out the ER cover story in the new issue of TV Guide Magazine.) I was almost disappointed that Ray interrupted the proceedings. But how can you not love a guy who shows up to fix your cable before his 7 am shift, with Krispy Kremes in tow? Neela may be dreaming of Gates, but I think this love triangle is going to heat up once Ray gets a clue. Shane West is too darn cute to be on the back burner for long. Aside from the very pleasant opening sequence, tonight’s episode served up a big dose of bittersweet. Kovac won the lawsuit, though it was an empty victory. The sad fact of the matter is that Curtis Ames probably hadn’t received the level of care that would have been required to prevent his debilitating stroke, but he certainly received the best care that Luka was able to offer at the time.
