Ziva (Cote de Pablo) may be back at her desk on NCIS, but she's far from being fully integrated back into the team.
That could all change in Tuesday's episode.

When a marine's death on foreign soil is connected to the freighter on which Ziva was held captive in the Season 6 finale, she will not only get involved in the case, but she'll also have to face her past. The good news for viewers: We'll finally get to see just what happened during Ziva's captivity.
"We're filling in the blanks," executive producer Shane Brennan tells TVGuide.com. "In the audience's mind, we're filling in how she ended up being captured by Salim, and the audience gets taken on a ride back to her time on the ship. It's a companion piece to the season opener."

In "The Inside Man," a blogger accuses the team of mishandling its investigation of the murder of a lieutenant, even alleging that NCIS covered up the real crime. When the blogger ends up dead, the team is forced to reopen the old case to clear itself of any wrongdoing.
To that end, Dinozzo and McGee resort to some less-than-ethical means of evidence collection, which doesn't sit well with D.C. police. Before you know it, they're headed to the slammer...

TV Guide: What can you say about the reports of turmoil on the set, which ended with creator Don Bellisario leaving the show? Michael Weatherly: I stay largely outside the politics of the show. I learned two lessons on another show [Dark Angel, in which he costarred with — and became engaged to — Jessica Alba]: The less I say the better, and don't date your costar! So Mark Harmon and I have never dated. Though the Silver Fox and I did spend a week in Vermont that nobody knows about.

Since this particular episode was shot this month, that makes it easier to remember. One thing I must say about "In the Dark" — and I am sure the rest of the NCIS family would agree — is that we got to work with some tremendously talented guest actors. John Billingsley was a joy to watch and work with; he played the coolest blind man I have ever seen on TV. Another thing that sticks out in my memory, aside from the fact that we all worked with John, was a scene that I had with Michael Weatherly. Every once in a while you get these scenes — these meaty, beefy scenes — that are filled with little moments of truth where you get an inside look at the character's heart. It's a long scene that takes place after Ziva overhears a "personal" conversation Tony is having with his girlfriend, played by the oh-so-cool Scottie Thompson. This season has been weird for Ziva regarding her "feelings" for Tony. I don't even know what she feels exactly, but I know that she's confuse...
