Former One Day at a Time star Mackenzie Phillips pleaded guilty to one count of felony cocaine possession in an Los Angeles court Friday.

According to People, Phillips also agreed to enter an 18-month drug deferment program. If Phillips successfully completes the treatment, the case against her will be dismissed.

Mackenzie Phillips faces two felony drug charges in connection with her Aug. 27 arrest for allegedly carrying narcotics through Los Angeles International Airport, the Los Angeles District Attorney told TVGuide.com.The actress was formally charged with two felony counts for possession of a controlled substance for heroin and cocaine on Wednesday, spokesperson Jane Robison said. Phillips was also hit with a misdemeanor charge for unauthorized possession of a needle or syringe. If convicted, the 48-year-old could face "a couple years" in prison, but because it is her first offense, she's eligible for a variety of drug rehab programs in lieu of serving time, Robison said.An arraignment will be held in October.According to People, the former One Day at a Time star, who has a long history of drug addiction, has entered rehab.Calls to Phillips' attorney were not immediately returned. — Joyce Eng read more

Mackenzie Phillips was arrested on suspicion of drug possession at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday morning, police confirm to TVGuide.com."She was being screened at 10 a.m. by TSA [Transportation Security Administration], and during a secondary screening, police found what appeared to be a small amount of heroin and cocaine on her," a rep for LAX security told TVGuide.com.The 48-year-old actress was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and remains in police custody.
