Who's the Baby Daddy? Who Needs Surgery? 5 Spoilers for Rizzoli & Isles' Winter Premiere

Rizzoli & Isles... and baby?

Last we saw Jane (Angie Harmon) and Maura (Sasha Alexander), Lydia (Alexandra Holden) — aka the ex-girlfriend of both Jane's dad Frank (Chazz Palmintieri) and her brother Tommy (Colin Egglesfield) — had left her newborn son on Maura's doorstep. This, of course, was moments ...

Rizzoli & Isles' Sharon Lawrence: Maura Meeting Her Mom Is a "Kaleidoscope of Emotions"

Tuesday's episode of Rizzoli & Isles will feature a case of mistaken identity, but for Maura, it's a case of learning her identity.

For the first time in her life, Maura (Sasha Alexander) will come face-to-face with her birth mother Dr. Hope Martin (guest star Sharon Lawrence), but this is no simple meet-up for coffee. How can it be when Hope doesn't even know that her daughter is alive? Lest we forget, Maura's crime boss father Paddy (John Doman), who feared that his father/mob honcho would kill Maura, asked Constance (Jacqueline Bisset) to adopt his baby girl and told everyone — including Hope — that Maura had died during birth.

So how do Maura and Hope finally reconnect? Does their reunion go swimmingly? We caught up with Lawrence to see what's in store...read more

Taking advantage of the networks' post-sweeps lull, TNT roars back in a big way this week, with tonight's winter return (for five episodes) of its two biggest hits, The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles, and starting Tuesday for the next month, a weekly series of first-run mystery movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Rizzoli & Isles: True Womance

Sexier than Cagney and Lacey, brainier than Laverne and Shirley and way better at tracking down serial killers than the women of The View, Rizzoli and Isles are TV's favorite gal pals of the moment. The show's ratings are through the roof. Bloggers obsess over the characters' "secret" love lives. Big-name guest stars are on the horizon. Still, for Angie Harmon, the show's chisel-cheeked costar, the true sign of success was getting a shout-out from Liz Lemon. Last spring, when Tina Fey's character on 30 Rock heard that her boss Jack was buying a cable network, Liz practically started hyperventilating: "Is it TNT? Are Rizzoli and Isles friends in real life?"

"I know it was a joke, but I kinda went, 'Hey, we made it!'" says Harmon. She's taking a break between scenes on the Rizzoli & Isles set in Los Angeles and talking about the 101 unexpected side effects of having the hottest new cable show of the past year. In its debut run last summer, Rizzoli & Isles drew nearly 9 million viewers a week, making the one-hour drama about a duo of mismatched crime investigators the highest-rated commercial-supported cable series of all time. And it's not just Tina Fey: "Old guys from Boston, young girls who tell me we inspire them, moms on the street," Harmon says. "I'm in awe of all the fans of this show."

Top Chef's Tre: "Anthony Bourdain Is Great at Throwing Slanders Out About People's Food"

This week's Top Chef paid homage to Goodfellas with an Italian-themed challenge and the film's Oscar-nominated actress Lorraine Bracco serving as guest judge. The cheftestants were split in three teams and tasked with making a dish for the one of New York's quintessential Italian-American restaurants, Rao's. But the group charged with the secondi (better known as the pasta course) failed to deliver on arguably the most important dish of an Italian meal. Unfortunately for Tre Wilcox, his overly thick risotto was the worst offense.

Find out why the Texas native coined himself as the "Black Italian" and what he really thinks about Anthony Bourdain's judging style. Plus: How does he always manage to stay out of the drama?
