Linda Ronstadt Fast Facts:

Of English, Dutch, German and Mexican ancestry.
As a teen, formed folk trio with brother Peter and sister Suzy; they billed themselves as The New Union Ramblers.
Met guitarist Bob Kimmel while attending Arizona State University; the duo relocated to Los Angeles, where they formed The Stone Poneys with guitarist and singer/songwriter Kenny Edwards.
Embarked on a solo career in 1968.
Released her first solo album, Hand Sown Home Grown, in 1969.
Recorded a string of highly successful country and pop hits during the 1970s, including: "When Will I Be Loved" (1975), "You're No Good" (1975), "Heat Wave" (1975);, "Tracks of My Tears" (1976), and "Blue Bayou" (1977).
Banned from performing on TV during the 1970s for her refusal to wear a bra.
Made the cover of Time Magazine in 1977.
In 1980, starred in a Broadway production of Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance.
Has released more than 40 albums and made guest appearances on more than 100 other albums.
Forayed into pop music during the 1980s, collaborating with famed arranger Nelson Riddle on three albums: Lush Life (1982), What's New (1983) and For Sentimental Reasons (1986).
Attributed problems with her weight over the years to a thyroid disease she suffers from called Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
Collaborated with singers Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton on the 1987 album Trio.
Inducted into the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame on September 23, 2007.
