Changed name in 1957 after he replaced a Miami disc jockey.
Made headlines in February 1992 when Ross Perot announced his bid for the Presidency on Larry King Live.
The talk show aired on CNN from June 3, 1985 until Dec. 16, 2010. It was replaced by Piers Morgan Tonight.
He won two Peabody awards, an Emmy and 10 CableAce awards.
