My Best Friend movie trailer - starring Daniel Auteuil, Julie Gayet, Dany Boon, Jacques Mathou, Marie Pillet, Julie Durand. Directed by Patrice Leconte. Theatrical Release Date: 7/13/2007
French President Francois Hollande is making headlines around the world, after reports he had an affair with French film actress Julie Gayet. Now -- sources say-- he's paying a visit to his partner, 'first lady' Valerie Trierweiler, who was hospitalized after hearing the news, as in need of rest. The president had not confirmed or denied magazine reports of the affair. The British Daily Mail wrote, 'Not a leader, just a coward.' ...And Germany's Die Welt, 'France's second lady.'
French 'first lady' Valerie Trierweiler has checked out of the hospital and is headed for Versailles, according to Paris Match magazine. She had been in the hospital since news of an affair with French President Francois Hollande and film actress Julie Gayet was first published by celebrity magazine Closer on January 10. Meanwhile, amidst the flurry of reports, Mr. Hollande is paying a visit to his political heartland in central France.
French President Francois Hollande, under fire over an alleged affair with an actress, refused on Tuesday to discuss his personal life but said he would clarify the status of France's first lady before a visit to the United States next month. His official partner, Valerie Trierweiler, has been in hospital since last Friday after a celebrity magazine published photos of what it said was Hollande in a motorcyclist's helmet visiting actress Julie Gayet for nocturnal trysts.

MY BEST FRIEND stars the great Daniel Auteuil as a middle-aged antiques dealer with a stylish apartment and a fabulous life. But at a dinner with his dearest acquaintances, he is blindsided by the revelation that none of them actually likes him. He's arrogant and self-centered, and they don't believe he knows the meaning of friendship. Business partner Catherine makes him a bet: if he can produce a best friend, she’ll let him keep the massive Greek vase he acquired that afternoon on the company tab. If not, it's hers. Francois tears through his address book, trying to shoehorn an increasingly unlikely series of contacts into the all-important role. He encounters a big-hearted cabbie named Bruno (France’s beloved star Dany Boon) whose chatty, lowbrow ways grate against Francois's designer temperament, but he covets the other man's easy way with people.
