My Best Friend movie trailer - starring Daniel Auteuil, Julie Gayet, Dany Boon, Jacques Mathou, Marie Pillet, Julie Durand. Directed by Patrice Leconte. Theatrical Release Date: 7/13/2007
He's nicknamed Mr Normal. Or Grandpa. Take another look, you'll see that, if the allegations are true, Francois Hollande has a secret side. The French president deplores a story linking him to French film actress, Julie Gayet, as an invasion of privacy. But on the eve of publication, his poll ratings went up one point. Though that's probably coincidence, and his ratings are in a slump anyway. And the French public wave the story aside with a shrug.
French President Francois Hollande, under fire over an alleged affair with an actress, refused on Tuesday to discuss his personal life but said he would clarify the status of France's first lady before a visit to the United States next month. His official partner, Valerie Trierweiler, has been in hospital since last Friday after a celebrity magazine published photos of what it said was Hollande in a motorcyclist's helmet visiting actress Julie Gayet for nocturnal trysts.
A French magazine alleges that President Francois Hollande is having an affair with film actress Julie Gayet. Hollande threatened to sue the magazine for breach of privacy. He did not deny the report. The weekly tabloid Closer published photos that purportedly shows a man wearing a helmet -- said to be Hollande -- arriving on a scooter outside an apartment in Paris.

MY BEST FRIEND stars the great Daniel Auteuil as a middle-aged antiques dealer with a stylish apartment and a fabulous life. But at a dinner with his dearest acquaintances, he is blindsided by the revelation that none of them actually likes him. He's arrogant and self-centered, and they don't believe he knows the meaning of friendship. Business partner Catherine makes him a bet: if he can produce a best friend, she’ll let him keep the massive Greek vase he acquired that afternoon on the company tab. If not, it's hers. Francois tears through his address book, trying to shoehorn an increasingly unlikely series of contacts into the all-important role. He encounters a big-hearted cabbie named Bruno (France’s beloved star Dany Boon) whose chatty, lowbrow ways grate against Francois's designer temperament, but he covets the other man's easy way with people.
