Jason Gann Fast Facts:
  • Hails from the same city in Queensland, Australia, as Geoffrey Rush.
  • Won Best Actor award at the 2002 Australian short-film festival Tropfest for the original Wilfred, a seven-minute short. Wilfred also won Best Comedy and People's Choice awards, and was later screened at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
  • Gann and cocreator Adam Zwar (who also costarred) expanded Wilfred into a sitcom, which aired on Australian TV in 2007 and 2010, and won a 2010 Australian Film Institute screenwriting award.
  • Cocreated and was an ensemble member (along with Zwar) of the Australian sketch-comedy series The Wedge in 2006-07.
