After mutilating a patient, a plastic surgeon (Anton Diffring) is booted from the medical profession and goes into hiding in France. There, he transforms disfigured female criminals into beauties who perform in his traveling circus. But when some of the women meet with horrific "accidents" when they try to escape, Scotland Yard begins to take notice. Bound together by a sturdy pair of handcuffs, hardened criminal George (Jack Warner) and naïve youngster Willie (George Cole) escape from prison and go on the lam, reluctantly forming a shaky alliance to remain a step ahead of the police and the eager reporters on their trail.
