Jack Valenti, a onetime aide to President Lyndon Johnson who went on to oversee the Motion Picture Association of America and become Hollywood's top lobbyist, died on Thursday of complications from a stroke he suffered in March. He was 85. Valenti's legacy includes, of course, updating the film industry's morality code created in the 1930s with the ratings system we have today. read more
