This week, Paul McCartney stood in for Kurt Cobain to front a semi-reunited Nirvana at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert (and later on Saturday Night Live), and there were touching tributes to the Newtown shooting victims from SNL and The Voice. The cast of Downton Abbey acted out scenes from Breaking Bad, we met the most easily scared man in the world and/or Norway, and Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson had a "sad-off" about their upcoming movies: Les Miserables and Django Unchained, respectively.

Tuesday's season finale of The Voice was not only an emotional night for Cassadee Pope, who was named the Season 3 winner, but also for the show's coaches. When the singing competition returns in March, it will be without original coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, who are both sitting out Season 4 to focus on other projects. Anyone worried about their absence, or how the additions of Usher and Shakira will affect the show's chemistry, can officially relax, according to social media correspondent Christina Milian.

In the words of coach Adam Levine, Tuesday's finale for The Voice was "bittersweet."
The Season 3 capper not only crowned a new winner, but it also (temporarily) said goodbye to coaches Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, who will sit out next season to focus on other projects. (Shakira and Usher will take over their spinning chairs.)

It's no secret that this wasn't The Voice's best year, but thankfully the quality of the finalists was never compromised by this season's exorbitant changes. As we approach the finale, we'll soon be asked to choose between three — not four — artists: Team CeeLo's Nicholas David and Team Blake's Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope.
