Beauty and the Beast Bosses: Catherine Deserves a Guy Like Gabe

Is Beauty and the Beast's Catherine really ready to move on from Vincent? She's at least going to try.

When we last saw Cat (Kristin Kreuk), she had finally realized that she hadn't let go of Vincent (Jay Ryan) because he had saved her life all those years ago. With their relationship behind her, and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) waiting in the wings, Cat's about to embark on a new  partnership — especially when her anger for Vincent is further propelled by his going public.

Exclusive Beauty and the Beast First Look: Catherine teams up with Elisabeth Rohm

"They've been under the shadow of having to hide him up until this point, and now there he is, free and out, and that's what she always hoped to have," showrunner Brad Kern tells Adds executive producer Jennifer Levin, "And that can fuel her towards Gabe, that upset and anger."

Beauty and the Beast Boss: Cat and Vincent Are Meant to Be Together -- Just Not Right Now

[WARNING: The following story contains spoilers from Monday's episode of Beauty and the Beast. Read at your own risk.]

How do you recover from shooting the love of your life? Beauty and the Beast's Catherine Chandler will soon have to find out.

On Monday's midseason finale, Cat (KristinKreuk) had to make a tough choice: watch a beastly Vincent (Jay Ryan) kill her father (Ted Whittal) or shoot Vincent to save him. Cat ultimately chose the latter.

In the closing moments of the episode, Cat — who still ultimately put her dad in jail —was being consoled by Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) while a shirtless Vincent was seen cleaning his wound as Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) walked in on him. So, where does this leave the couple? Is there hope for reconciliation, or will Cat and Vincent both seek love in other places? Executive producer Brad Kern shared what's to come with a select group of reporters below.

Beauty and the Beast Boss: Cat and Vincent Have to Fall In Love All Over Again

Beauty and the Beast is hitting the reset button with a revamped beast, a new mythology and a brand new love story.

At the end of the CW series' first season, the future for Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) looked bleak, as Vincent was captured by a man the audience soon learned was Cat's biological father (played by Ted Whittall). When Season 2 premieres, there will be more noticeable changes than just the three-month time-jump that begins with Cat still frantically searching for her love. Gone is the procedural "case of the week" aspect of the show, gone is the signature scar on Vincent's face and — most drastically — gone is Vincent's memory of his recent life.

Any news on the Charmed ...

Question: Any news on the Charmed finale?

Answer: Yes! Brad Kern has put the finishing touches on the script and my spies tell me it covers 80 years in the girls' lives, from the 1970s to around 2050 with numerous stops in between. Most of it is told from the POV of Piper and Leo, but Phoebe and Paige are hardly marginalized. In fact, one of them gets married.

Can you please tell Brad Kern ...

Question: Can you please tell Brad Kern to get off his butt and invite Shannen Doherty back for the Charmed finale?

Answer: Let it go, people. It ain't happening. If it's any consolation, Prue will get a shout-out in the finale.

"Will you look at all...

"Will you look at all these rumors/Surrounding me every day?/I just need some time/Some time to get away from/From all these rumors/I can't take it no more." Back in the '80s, who among us could have guessed that Timex Social Club's wondrous one hit would be even more relevant today, especially to those of us who live, eat and breathe all things tubular (I mean that in the TV-related sense, not in the gnarly Valley Girl way). Think about it: Every day, the gossip mill seems to churn out another titillating tidbit about our favorite shows — sometimes even more than one. So maybe it's apropos that one of the chief starters of said rumors should also be the one to cut through all the prattle and separate fact from fiction. Or at the very least try.

Rumor: Someone's a switch-hitter on Grey's Anatomy.
