So What Does Once Upon a Time's Series Finale Title Mean?

We've got a few theories

Once Upon a Timewill soon wrap up the stories of its beloved fairytale characters in a series finale set to air this May. While we don't know much about how the show plans to bid farewell to the fantasy drama -- namely which original characters might return if any -- we now know what it will be called.

On Wednesday morning, Adam Horowitz tweeted out the title of the series finale, to be called "Leaving Storybrooke," and we have just one question: what does it mean?

If taken literally, this could be a hint that Storybrooke's inhabitants are leaving their small town. But then where would they go? The Enchanted Forest was destroyed after the last curse so they'd have to relocate to a different realm if they intend to settle in a world where magic exists.

Once Upon a Time: Which Originals Characters Are Returning?

More than likely, this is a symbolic nod to the show ending since we will soon, in fact, have to say goodbye to Storybrooke and everything involved with it. And the fact that the final episode of the series contains "Storybrooke" in the title suggests that the story will come full circle, moving away from Hyperion Heights and back to the town that started it all.

With the series now winding down, there are still a number of issues that need to be addressed like how Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Zelena (Rebecca Mader) plan to break the curse if it means Henry (Andrew J. West) will die. Can they find a loophole or will Hyperion Hights be here to stay for good? Plus, will Rumple (Robert Carlyle) finally be reunited with Belle (Emilie de Ravin) in the afterlife? And will Regina get her happily ever after?

See how it all comes to an end when Once Upon a Time continues Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.
