Law & Order: SVU: McCoy Is Back in This First Look Photo!
Prepare to have your hearts melted
Sam Waterston has finally made his return to the Law & Order universe!
TVLine shared the first photos of Jack McCoy's (Waterston) visit to the Law & Order: SVUcourtroom on Monday, and it's nothing short of a breath of fresh air to see McCoy and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) share the screen after all these years.
Waterston will be swinging by for the Feb. 7 episode, titled "The Undiscovered Country," in which the SVU team is divided over a right-to-die court case after an infant goes missing. The case is further complicated when Barba's (Raul Esparza) meddling threatens the entire DA's office.
It sounds like Barba could use a talking to -- and some sage words of wisdom -- from McCoy. This episode will mark Waterston's first return to SVU since Season 11, when he stopped by to help the SVU track down an arsonist responsible for killing two young girls.
The actor, who currently stars on Grace & Frankie, starred on the flagship Law & Order series as everyone's favorite DA McCoy from 1994 through the end of the series in 2010. This will mark his fourth appearance on SVU. Waterston also appeared as McCoy in episodes of Law & Order: Trial by Jury, Homicide: Life on the Street and the oft-forgotten TV movie Exiled: A Law & Order Movie.
Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
