Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), True Blood
When a Japanese scientist invents synthetic blood, vampires, including Bill, a Civil War soldier, come out of the coffin in present-day Louisiana, in an attempt to "mainstream" into society. Thus far, it's working. Bill has won over the townsfolk, and even snagged a hot human girlfriend, Sookie (Anna Paquin).
