OK, so by now you know that Ghost Whisperer is making a big appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con. We only have one thing to add to last week's blog about it: While we're at Comic-Con, we'll be doing live Tweets from the floor, which will include pictures and messages from our team and our stars. To get in on the action on Sunday, July 26, enter our widget link and click on the Twitter button.
And of course, if you're in San Diego, be sure to check in with us at the fan panel. Can't get there? No problem! Next week, we'll bring GW Comic-Con to you. We know you've got burning questions you're dying to ask— we'll re-do the Comic-Con Q&A right here, for those who could only be in San Diego in spirit. Enough said! Now, in answer to Carale20's question about "what David Conrad, Camryn Manheim and Christoph Sanders are doing": Mainly they're back at work, because we're in the middle of shooting Episode 502 on the Universal Studios sound stages. Camryn is a mom — and a wonderful mom at that — so when she's not working, she's a full-time mommy. Are you aware that Camryn is very proficient at sign language? She is, and she does a lot of charity work related to this. BTW, we're talking about incorporating this important form of communication into one of the episodes at some point.
When he's not shooting Ghost Whisperer, David Conrad is very much involved with the theater — particularly back in Pittsburgh, where he grew up. As some of you know, he starred in a production this summer there; he said it was a magical experience. FYI: Last summer, David did Shakespeare in New York. We promise to let you know the next time he hits the stage.
When Christoph Sanders is not working, he tries to go home to Asheville, North Carolin, where he visits his parents and his younger brother. He's the good son we all wish we had.
In response to Twokees, who posted the question: "Why did you 'kill Jim' when David Conrad is staying on the show?": When we launched Ghost Whisperer, the pilot started with Jim and Melinda's wedding reception. Therefore, the audience missed what came before. Over the years, we've heard from so many of you about how much you enjoyed Jim and Melinda's relationship and how you were interested in the history of that. So, having Jim get shot, die, come back as a ghost, then "step in" with Sam but not retain the memory of his relationship with Melinda, gave Jim and Melinda the opportunity to fall in love all over again. Jim's near-death experience while trying to save Melinda triggered his memory of their marriage and re-booted their love story so that you could experience their falling in love all over again.
As we move forward into Season 5, there is a new twist on their lives — a baby. And what kind of baby, you ask? Oh, you can't imagine the fun we're having behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera with that one! There's lots of growth and new insight into the spirit world coming your way.
Several of you posted questions wanting to know what made the writers go in the direction of killing Jim. P.K. [Simonds] and the rest of the writing team are brave, smart artists who are never satisfied with just treading water when it comes to storytelling. We embrace and applaud that. And David Conrad was really game for this adventure, as was Love. We think they both rose to the challenge of playing their parts — particularly David, in playing dual characters. As we move into Season 5, we're really thrilled that you're engaged and curious and we look forward to continuing this dialogue. As filmmakers, there's nothing more exciting than high-stakes storytelling, which is what it will be again this season.
This week's episode, "Body of Water," marked the directorial debut of Jennifer Love Hewitt. In the episode, Melinda faces her biggest challenge since Jim's death. Literally dozens of angry ghosts are suddenly haunting Grandview, at the same time that Melinda has to face off with the woman Sam planned to propose to — and all while somehow keeping her gift a secret.
"Body of Water" was written by executive producers P.K. Simonds and Laurie McCarthy. This episode guest stars Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated actress Teri Polo (Meet The Parents), Emmy-winner David Clennon (Dream On), Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee April Grace (Magnolia), and Daytime Emmy nominee Jessica Tuck (One Life To Live).
Musically, this episode features BRIT Awards Winner Shakespeare's Sister "Stay" Rhino/WEA, Nadia Fay's "Possibilities" (Riptide Records), In For the Kill's "Against The Girl" (Blue Buddha Records), Katie Herzig's "Hologram" (Marion-Lorraine Records), Rosi Golan's "Come Around" (Gypsy Betch Records), Stasia Conger's "Not Me" (Crucial Records), and UK chart topping band The Script "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" (Sony BMG).

Enjoy tonight's episode, thanks for the postings, and moving forward we've got lots to share with you. Let's reconnect next week, shall we?
