The ABC quasi-documentary series i-Caught was a celebration of the "marriage" between traditional TV and internet video. Drawing its material from the multitude of newsgroups and amateur-video showcases which proliferate in the ethereal world of "Dot.Coms", the series told the real stories behind the videos contributed by "real" people. The enterprising souls who'd used their cameras and computers to provide on-the-sport coverage of natural disasters, major sports events, high-speed chases, political blunders, faraway wars, hostage crises et. al. were invited to tell the "story behind the story" of their visual handiwork. Also seen were choice examples of outrageously silly behavior, stupid crook tricks, and the random "grabs" of professional surveillance cameras. In keeping with its premise, i-Caught premiered simultaneously on the ABC network and abc.com on August 7, 2007.
