Had DEATH HUNT been directed by Robert Aldrich (as was originally planned), it might have been a minor masterwork; instead it's merely a mediocre action film with an unfortunate waste of talent. Lee Marvin costars as the tough-as-nails Mountie assigned to track down a maverick trapper (Charles Bronson) who is accused of murder that, of course, he didn't commit, and for which he refuses to be brought in. A few moments of good, visual storytelling aren't enough to save this frustrating film.
