An unusually raw and realistic (for its time) drama about New York City cops that was strong on character development and location filming. After an initial season of half-hour episodes, the show was canceled, but returned a year later as an hourlong series for a three-season run that included early-career guest roles for such notables as Diahann Carroll, Sandy Dennis, Peter Fonda, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford and Jon Voight. Based on the 1948 movie 'The Naked City.'
