The first season of "911" introduces and follows the lives of a team of Los Angeles City first responders: LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant (Angela Bassett), LAFD Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause), 911 operator Abby Clark (Connie Britton), and firefighters Evan "Buck" Buckley (Oliver Stark), Howie "Chimney" Han (Kenneth Choi), and Henrietta "Hen" Wilson (Aisha Hinds). Athena deals with the disintegration of her marriage after her husband Michael (Rockmond Dunbar) comes out as gay. Bobby struggles with alcoholism, while Abby strives to meet the needs of her dementia-stricken mother. Chimney fights for his life after an accident on the job, Buck works up the nerve to ask Abby on a date, and Hen faces the impact of granting her ex-girlfriend a favor on her marriage.
