The project is an irreverent look at parenthood from the perspectives of an acerbic working mother (Applegate), her stay-at-home husband (Arnett) and her outspoken parents.Saturday Night Live's Maya Rudolph will also star.
Parks and Recreation writer Emily Spivey wrote the pilot and will produce with SNL's Lorne Michaels.
Maya Rudolph to star opposite Christina Applegate in NBC pilot
The 40-year-old actor, who recently reprised his role on 30 Rock, starred on Fox's short-lived series Running Wilde. He's best known for his work on Arrested Development and in the film Blades of Glory, and will next appear on the season finale of The Office.
