Faster, Pussycat! Actress Tura Satana Dies at 72

Tura Satana, the actress best known for her role in the 1965 film Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, has died of heart failure in a Reno, Nev. hospital, The Los Angeles Times reports.  She was 72. See other celebrities who died this year

Satana was born Tura Luna Pascual Yamaguchi in Hokkaido, Japan,  and her family moved to the United States in 1942. After working for several years as an exotic dancer, Satana gained fame playing Varla, the leader of a daredevil trio of sports car-driving vixens, in Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! The actress' other credits include the 1963 film Irma La Douce and the 1960s television shows Burke's Law and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Satana was married three times, and had said she once turned down a marriage proposal from Elvis Presley. She's survived by her daughters Kalani Silverman and Jade Fall and six grandchildren.
