This pawn shop, featured in TruTV's popular series, opens its second season with a man trying to sell a DVD player that he says is actually an alien communication device, and a former porn star comes in with some of his old movies. Champs Sports Bowl6:30/5:30c ESPN The Mountaineers of West Virginia tangle with the North Carolina State Wolfpack in Orlando in one of those classic stingy defense vs. prolific offense matchups. West Virginia, led by nose guard Chris Neild,  gave up fewer touchdowns than any team in the nation, a paltry 15, with only three coming on the ground. They'll try to stop QB Russell Wilson who was 11th in the nation in total offense and has a corps of outstanding receivers. — Dave RoederRudolph's Shiny New Year
8/7c ABC Everybody's favorite red-nosed reindeer proves he isn't a one-trick pony when Santa sends him on a mission to find the aurally enhanced Baby New Year. Although not quite the equal of other Rankin/Bass holiday favorites, this 1976 tale boasts the same great animation, some memorable characters — notably the comically menacing buzzard Aeon — and the voices of Morey Amsterdam, Frank Gorshin and narrator Red Skelton. — Joe Friedrich

Kennedy Center Honors9/8c CBS The 33rd annual gala, hosted by Caroline Kennedy, salutes Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Bill T. Jones, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey. The five diverse honorees are feted by a stellar lineup of performers and presenters, including Julia Roberts, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Sidney Poitier, Claire Danes and Barbara Walters. The evening, as usual, is heavy on music, with a magnificent cross section of country, rock and Broadway. On the season' penultimate episode, Sahil gets a surprise reaction from his coming-out announcement, while Nathan contemplates adopting a child over going the surrogacy route. — Ray StackhouseAmerica's Septuplets Turn 1310/9c TLC Raising a teen can be a trying experience for any parent, but raising eight at once can be downright chaotic. Ann Curry visits West Des Moines, Iowa, to see how Kenny and Bobbi McCaughey do it. Their septuplets, the world's first surviving set, turned 13 last month, and their oldest turns 15 in January. In a rare TV interview, the McCaugheys let viewers in on the challenges and triumphs of life in a supersized family. — Karen Kelty
