Champs Sports Bowl6:30/5:30c ESPN The Mountaineers of West Virginia tangle with the North Carolina State Wolfpack in Orlando in one of those classic stingy defense vs. prolific offense matchups. West Virginia, led by nose guard Chris Neild,  gave up fewer touchdowns than any team in the nation, a paltry 15, with only three coming on the ground. They'll try to stop QB Russell Wilson who was 11th in the nation in total offense and has a corps of outstanding receivers. — Dave RoederRudolph's Shiny New Year
8/7c ABC Everybody's favorite red-nosed reindeer proves he isn't a one-trick pony when Santa sends him on a mission to find the aurally enhanced Baby New Year. Although not quite the equal of other Rankin/Bass holiday favorites, this 1976 tale boasts the same great animation, some memorable characters — notably the comically menacing buzzard Aeon — and the voices of Morey Amsterdam, Frank Gorshin and narrator Red Skelton. — Joe Friedrich
