Who needs bobbing for apples and costume contests when you can celebrate Halloween this year with some spooky fairytales?

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour today, Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access announced the premiere date for the streaming service's upcoming psychological thriller series, Tell Me A Story. The show will launch its spooky 10-episode first season on Wednesday, Oct. 31. and continue to air Thursdays on CBS All Access.

Set in modern-day New York City,Tell Me a Story will retell the classic fables "The Three Little Pigs," "Hansel and Gretel" and "Little Red Riding Hood" as they intertwine in a tale full of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder. The cast includes Paul Wesley, James Wolk, Billy Magnussen, Dania Ramirez, Danielle Campbell, Dorian Missick, Michael Raymond-James, Davi Santos, Sam Jaeger, Zabryna Guevara and Kim Cattrall. It's worth noting that within that cast are two Once Upon a Timealums (Ramirez and Raymond-James), who are no strangers to the whimsical world of fairytales.

CBS All Access dropped the first trailer for the new series, and while there's no supernatural component to the series, it still looks just as sexy as it is scary. But don't look for actual piggies and other things you remember from the classic stories; in the trailer, a trio of bank robbers are seen wearing pig masks, for example. Good luck trying to "sleep tight" after this series drops, because we've got a feeling those pig masks alone will give you nightmares.
