Comedian Dane Cook is taking on his first series regular role on TV.
Cook, whose TV guest-starring credits include Hawaii Five-0, Louieand Crank Yankers, will star in NBC's Next Caller Please pilot.
From Weeds' producer Stephen Falk, Next is a gender comedy about a brash, alpha male DJ (Cook) and his plucky, feminist co-host (Collette Wolfe). As previously announced, Joy Osmanski will also star as their producer.
Cook has also appeared in the films Waiting..., Employee of the Monthand Good Luck Chuck.
