I'm glad to hear that Desperate Housewives' Gaby is staying frumpy, if only for a bit longer. Any other scoop to share? - Jill
Matt:
I almost forgot that I had gleaned this from my TCA party talk with exec producer Bob Daily (I blame my third Cape Cod...), but now here it is: Bree won't make do with just one kid for long. We will see Joy Lauren back as Danielle Van De Camp very soon - and not in flashback.
At House's TCA session all I saw was Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and the "new team." Does that mean that Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) and Jesse Spencer (Chase) are no longer part of the show? - Kerry
Mickey:
Very observant, Kerry, but I'm told their absence is not significant. Both Morrison and Spencer remain series regulars. In fact, an upcoming ep promises to shed new light on the couple.
Any romantic relationships for Dr. House this season? - Stephanie
Mickey:
There's a rumor that he and Cuddy will stop circling and start canoodling this season, but you didn't hear it from me!
Give me some awesome Clois scoop. - Danny
Matt:
You want awesome? We've got awesome. Our Comic-Con video Q&A with half of Smallville's show-running team, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer, is about to go live. When it does, you will hear TVGuide.com's Erin Fox procure this glorious sound bite: "We've played Clark and Lois as brothers and sister, basically, so far... but this season, things change. [Working together at the 'Planet'] they can't deny that there are feelings there."
Can we get more info about Clark and Lois both working at the "Daily Planet"? - Kassandra
Matt:
OK, just one more excerpt, but then I'm done robbing Erin Peter to pay Mega Buzz Paul: "The romantic banter, a la Moonlighting... the fans are going to love it," says Swimmer. Banter shmanter - is Clark's pencil going to get sharpened? The answer to that... is in this video. Also, enjoy these vids featuring Allison Mack, Justin Hartley and Sam Witwer (aka Doomsday).
I thoroughly enjoyed CBS' recent repeats of Dexter. Any chance they will air more? - Curlie
Mickey:
According to CBS prez Nina Tassler, no. During the TCA press tour, she called the cable-to-network re-editings and -airings "an interesting experiment," but not one they are likely to repeat.
"The Buy More smells just like Best Buy," you say? Please elaborate on your TCA set visit and throw us Chuck fans a bone! - Calvin
Matt:
Yes, the video crew and I visited the Buy More set during TCA week, and there I interviewed Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez and Adam Baldwin. (Remind me that Yvonne was MIA and I shall smack you.) Scoopage-wise, I am sad to report that what Ms. Strahovski told me at TV Guide's Sexiest Stars party - that Sarah will move in with Chuck - has not yet come to pass, and production is at least eight episodes into the new season. What's up with that? Series creator Josh Schwartz tells me the plan still is for the secret and the agent to cohabitate, "but not for a little while."
Since the Network Idiots canceled Moonlight, will the yummy Alex O'Loughlin be back on The Shield? - Rebecca
Mickey:
The scoop on the final season of The Shield is locked up tighter than the canceled Moonlight's soundstages (ouch), but I have confirmed that O'Loughlin will not reappear. At the fall previews, however, Shield creator Shawn Ryan said that other familiar faces might. So keep your eyes peeled!
Please don't let us down with One Tree Hill scoop! Thanks! - Whit
Matt:
Let you down, never. In fact, I unearthed a most provocative vittle that is the lead story in this week's Mitovich Mega Minute video. Check it out.
Is there any truth to a rumor that One Tree Hill's sixth season will only have 13 episodes? - Chris
Matt:
None. OTH received a pick-up for the full 22 episodes this year. Don't let the haters/disgruntled Everwood fans tell you differently!
I was wondering if Bones is ever going to meet her extended family (e.g. her mother's sisters)? Max told her about them but it was never mentioned after that. - Paula
Mickey:
I'm hearing that it's possible, but not planned at this time. Getting to know Booth's family, on the other hand, is another story.
This CSI: Miami fan still hasn't gotten over Speedle's death or his return as Delko's hallucination. Is there any indication that Speed will make any other appearances as a ghost, another hallucination or whatever? I'd just like to see Rory Cochrane on television again. - Susan
Matt:
Susan, you have won 50,000 TVGuide.com Power User Points for asking a question which ultimately led me to an exclusive news story. Your PUPs are currently redeemable for nothing, though if you private-message me, I'll let you choose from my Swag Bag.
Could you do something about the lack of Law & Order scoop, please? Something from any of the three shows will do. - Kristi
Mickey:
An early-season episode of SVU will feature three high-profile guest stars. Luke Perry and my future ex-wife Julie Bowen (see below) play foster parents who are accused of some pretty nasty business. Roseanne's Sara Gilbert plays the foster child's birth mother.
Can you give me any CSI: Miami scoop? - Bryan
Matt:
The 4400 fans' loss is the Miami team's gain. Megalyn Echikunwoke has been cast in the recurring role of a medical examiner who will somewhat fill the void left by the exit of Khandi Alexander. (Let's just hope Megalyn brings to the role only a fraction of Isabelle's almost-annoying come-hither presence.)
Is Without a Trace ever going to get back to its former glory? If it continues to be the "Just Jack with Some Sam Show," I'm going to have to find something else to watch. - Eve
Mickey:
I can't comment on "former glory," but when the new season starts on Sept. 26, there'll be a new top dog (Steven Weber) in place who does things very differently than Jack. This season will focus on the families of missing persons, and we'll become very involved with a support group or two. Is that your idea of glorious?
I'm a big fan of The Closer and I enjoy the new character, Ricardo Ramos, who appeared in the season opener. Is he going to become a series regular? Perhaps he could be Daniels' new love interest! - Dee
Matt:
A Stephen Martines fan, are you? Ricardo gets himself into a big mess next week, but apparently it's not too messy, seeing as he resurfaces in Episode 7. As for Daniels and her seemingly soured romance with Gabriel... we'll get the 411 on that very soon, I hear.
What's the word on the BBC America series Primeval? I like the look of the commercials. - Alan
Mickey:
Before you wrote in, there was no word, Alan. But a Jurassic-y world in which humans and prehistoric species co-exist looks pretty cool to me, too. Check out the fun creature vids on the netlet's website, and report back with any scoop-related questions after the show's premiere (Aug. 9, at 9 pm).
Last week, you indicated that a Men in Trees DVD will never happen. Would ABC really not bother, when ABC Family has put all of their one-season wonders on DVD? - Heidi
Matt:
I'm just the messenger, and last I checked with someone very much in the know, a Men in Trees DVD release was not in the works, and certainly not any time soon.
Please tell me that William Sanderson's homeless character will be returning to Life this season. I loved the interplay between him and Adam Arkin. - Amy
Mickey:
A rep for Sanderson - who just finished filming the first season of True Blood, Alan Ball's vampire drama for HBO - has heard of no plans for him to "return to Life," which is actually not a lame vampire joke. Unless you laughed. Then it is a brilliant vampire joke.
Is there any word on the release of Seasons 2 or 3 of American Dreams? Rumor has it that both DVDs, including the long awaited alternate ending to Season 3, were finished but not released. - Tricia
Matt:
Everyone, you know Gord from TVShowsonDVD.com, right? Says he, " American Dreams features lots of great music, and this, coupled with the less-than-stellar sales of Season 1, have nixed plans for the rest to be released. There's always a chance they could come out later, but.... I can almost assure you the sets aren't sitting in some secret Universal vault."
Mickey's Mega Rave: Julie Bowen, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Ed. Lost. Even Boston Legal. And now Weeds, on which you play Lisa, a seriously hot MILF-next-door. Lisa owns a cheese shop, which sends my febrile mind reeling for suggestive metaphors about body, aging and firmness... or something. All I know is that I would totally have a fondue party with you, if you know what I'm saying.
Matt's Mini Rant: Mickey, you piqued my curiosity and sent me to YouTube looking for illegal clips of said Weeds scenes. But on a related note, can we, the entertainment media, please establish a minimum age for the already-questionable MILF term? Julie Bowen is what, 37? And 90210's just-cast hot-to-trot momma is maybe 34? Let's save the acronym for mothers who are decidedly of a certain age. By the current loose definition, Jamie Lynn Spears qualifies!
Reader Quote of the Week: "So, Miley will be done with Hannah Montana in a year? That only makes her 12 months behind the rest of us." ( somethingreal81, on Cyrus' Disney series possibly ending)
