Matt's Weekend Picks: March 4-6

The Defenders(Friday, 8/7c, CBS)
One week before she begins a limited run on Broadway — and let's hope HBO or somebody records THAT show! — the irrepressible Kathy Griffin goes to Las Vegas in a guest shot on this struggling courtroom drama. She is cast to type as a brash insult comic sued for offending one of her audience victims (What, Joan Rivers was busy?) In the subplot, the son of a hotel owner turns to buddy lawyers Nick and Pete for help after he wakes up to find a casino host strangled in a hot tub. What are the odds he's guilty?
Saturday Night Live(Saturday, 11:30/10:30c, NBC)
Hey, you know what would be pretty cool? Miley Cyrus hosting Saturday Night Live and playing along with her uncanny impersonator Vanessa Bayer. Well, it's happening — the guest hosting anyway, and we presume the sketch as well. (If an on-air reconciliation with dad Billy Ray is in the cards, well, that would be even pretty cooler.) While it's not out of the question that Miley will sing during her sketch duties, the official musical guest is The Strokes.
Daniel Tosh: Happy Thoughts(Sunday, 9/8c, Comedy Central)
One of the channel's biggest breakout stars (host of Tosh.0) gets his own stand-up special, ironically titled of course, as he goes after celebrities, sports figures, the Amish, Mormons and illegal aliens before a San Francisco audience. If it leaves you wanting more, an uncensored DVD will be released the following Tuesday — including an extended performance and a Day in the Life behind-the-scenes featurette from the set of Tosh 2.0.
Breakout Kings(Sunday, 10/9c, A&E)
Having found success in scripted drama last summer with The Glades, A&E tries again with a high-concept caper series that mixes elements of The Fugitive, Leverage and The Dirty Dozen. The "breakout kings" are a task force of prison inmates, overseen by two U.S. Marshals, who use their criminal insights to go after dangerous prison escapees. For every perp they capture, they get a month knocked off their sentence. If any of them tries to make a break, the deal is off.
