Marty McFly, Jud Fry Added to National Film Registry

The Library of Congress has added Back to the Future, Oklahoma!, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and 23 other titles to its registry of films proven to be "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant. "The National Film Registry seeks not only to honor these films but ensure that they are preserved for future generations to enjoy," the group says in a statement. Also making the cut this time around: Dances with Wolves (perhaps honored as one of the last Kevin Costner films that didn't stink out loud), 12 Angry Men, The Naked City, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Wuthering Heights.
