Game lovers, rejoice!

After Joe and Anthony Russo knocked it out of the park with their work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- most recently co-directing Avengers: Endgame -- the brothers are now teaming with Netflix to create an animated series adaptation of Magic: The Gathering.

Per Variety, the Russos will work together to oversee an adaptation of the popular card game, including expanding the stories of the Planeswalkers.

In a statement, the Russo brothers said of the news, "We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us."

The Russos, who will help form the new series and serve as executive producers, will be joined by Henry Gilroy and Jose Molina, who will also write and produce. Yoriaki Mochizuki is also on board as supervising director and co-executive producer.

Magic: The Gathering is a fantasy card game that first launched in 1993 and allows players to engage in battles between wizards. This will mark the first time it has been adapted to screen.

Netflix's head of anime programming John Derderian said of the Russo brothers' involvement in this adaptation, "There's no one better suited to bring this story to audiences around the world than Joe and Anthony Russo, whose talent for genre storytelling is unmatched, as is demonstrated by their central role in creating some of the biggest box office hits of all time."
