The King's Speech beat out Oscar front-runner The Social Network to win top prize at the 2011 Producers Guild Awards.

The film starring Colin Firth was awarded the top prize for feature films at the awards Saturday in Los Angeles. The surprise win came less than a week after The King's Speech lost out to The Social Network for best drama film at the Golden Globe Awards.

Toy Story 3 was named the best animated film of the year, while Waiting for 'Superman' nabbed the prize for best documentary.

In TV, Mad Men was recognized as the top drama series. Modern Family took home the top comedy series award. The Pacific was named the best long-form television project of the year. The Colbert Report and Deadliest Catch also nabbed awards, for best live entertainment and best nonfiction television, respectively.
