Film studios were feeling very nostalgic Wednesday with the announcement of not one, but two big-screen reboots of beloved TV shows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Ferrell and Anchorman director Adam McKay are currently working on a new Flintstonesanimated movie. The Campaign scribe Chris Henchy is writing the script for the project, based on the animated series that ran from 1960 to 1966. Most recently, two live action Flintstonesmovies were released in the '90s. Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane unsuccessfully attempted to launch a TV series reboot two years ago.

The best and worst reboots

But that's not all! TheWrap.com also reports that Lionsgate plans to resurrect the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers for a new live action movie. Since launching as a TV show in 1993, the Power Rangers empire has expanded to comic books, video games and even a 1995 feature film starring the original TV cast.

"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level," Power Rangers creator Haim Saban said in a statement. "They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from The Hunger Games to Twilight and Divergent. In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own."
