The Los Angeles Coroner's office released the official autopsy for Carrie Fisher on June 16th, and the results pointed towards sleep apnea.

According the The Hollywood Reporter, Fisher had a buildup of fat in the walls of her arteries. There was also reference to "multiple drugs" Fisher had taken that day, but the results on whether they contributed to her death were inconclusive.

On Monday, the Associated Press reported that traces of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy were found in her system at the time of her death. Toxicology results say Fisher took cocaine three days prior to the incident but could not determine when the others were taken. The official cause of death is still "sleep apnea" and "other factors."

Fisher had a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles on December 23rd last year and was immediately rushed to the hospital. She died four days later in intensive care after being put on a ventilator.

In light of the results, Billie Lorde spoke up about her mother's struggle with addition. "My mom battled drug addiction and mental illness her entire life. She ultimately died of it. She was purposefully open in all of her work about the social stigmas surrounding these diseases," she said in a statement, according to People.

"She talked about the shame that torments people and their families confronted by these diseases. I know my Mom, she'd want her death to encourage people to be open about their struggles. Seek help, fight for government funding for mental health programs. Shame and those social stigmas are the enemies of progress to solutions and ultimately a cure. Love you Momby."
