ABC has given pilot orders to comedy Black-ish and drama Clementine, TVGuide.com has learned.
Black-ish is a single-camera comedy starring Anthony Anderson (Guys with Kids, Law & Order) as an upper-middle class black man who struggles to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father and his assimilated, color-blind kids. Anderson will also executive-produce the comedy written by Are We There Yet?'s Kenya Barris.
Clementine follows a habitual criminal who digs into the mystery of her origins after she becomes the target of a group of zealots who fear she possesses latent supernatural abilities that she will one day harness for either profound good or monstrous evil. The Manchurian Candidate's Dean Georgaris will write while Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper and Ilene Staple will executive-produce.
