A bad reworking of 1933's I COVER THE WATERFRONT starring Foster as the tough newshound who learns that his girl friend Anders' father, old sea captain Kelley, is being paid by the mob for transporting gangsters out of the country. Things get sticky when it appears Kelley has murdered one of his charges, and Foster tips the cops. Thinking that he only went out with her to get a story about her father, Anders dumps Foster and tries to get her old man to Mexico. Foster catches up with them, however, and kills Kelley in a gunfight. Anders realizes her father was a crook and reconciles with Foster.
