This story of a singer involved with two women is sweetened by country music.

A sort of country Intermezzo, with a nice balance between music and drama. Willie Nelson more or less plays himself in this semiautobiographical picture about a country musician (Nelson) who's torn between his love for his wife (Dyan Cannon) and son (Joey Floyd), his love for performing, and the bottle. Willie sings "On the Road Again," which received an Oscar nomination and became his theme song.
