Lovesick Reviews

Saul Benjamin (Dudley Moore) is a psychiatrist who falls in love with patient Chloe Allen (Elizabeth McGovern). This second feature from writer-director Marshall Brickman reveals the influence of his friend Woody Allen. Allen's character in PLAY IT AGAIN SAM carries on a dialogue with an apparition of Humphrey Bogart; here, Benjamin talks with a spectral Sigmund Freud. The roles are all neatly done, but Brickman's script is nearly directionless. The film has its cute moments, but in the end, it is a waste of fine talent.
