Formulaic fun, helped by two winning leads. Lt. Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid) is a bold American pilot who is miniaturized as part of a government experiment, then accidentally injected into Jack Putter (Martin Short), a weak-willed nobody. Jack and Tuck then team to battle the bad guys who are after the miniaturization formula. Joe Dante slogs his way through it, Meg Ryan shows up for intermittent sparkle and Short's drunken dance scene stands out. A combined reworking of FANTASTIC VOYAGE and ALL OF ME, the film won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
