Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey Reviews

Inferior retread of the surprisingly charming BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. Bill S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted "Theodore" Logan (Keanu Reeves) have averted the catastrophic possibility that they might be separated and their heavy metal band--The Wyld Stallyns--disbanded before it had the chance to win the Battle of the Bands. As we learned in BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE, their music is destined to become the foundation of a future utopia in which everyone lives by the motto "Be excellent to each other" and Bill and Ted are cultural heroes in a league with Einstein and Mozart. This film expands on that premise, with mostly disappointing results. The best sequence is a warped homage to Ingmar Bergman's THE SEVENTH SEAL: the deceased Bill and Ted challenge Death to a game and the game is... Battleship. Otherwise forgettable.
