Where to Watch
The 15th annual Inductions Ceremony honors guitar hero Eric Clapton, blues-rock diva Bonnie Raitt, singer-songwriter James Taylor, 1960s hitmakers the Lovin' Spoonful, seminal doo-wop stars the Moonglows and funk juggernaut Earth, Wind & Fire. This year's ceremonies introduce the new categories of early influences (who predated rock but helped its development); non-performers (including songwriters, producers, engineers, journalists, disc jockeys and record company executives); and sidemen. Inductees in the early influences category are Nat "King" Cole and Billie Holiday; the non-performer is Arista record executive Clive Davis (who helped spawn Santana's megahit CD "Supernatural"); the sidemen are Hal Blaine, King Curtis, James Jamerson, Scotty Moore and Earl Palmer. Presenters include Paul McCartney, Patti Smith and Melissa Etheridge. Taped March 6 at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
