As the Chinese People's Volunteer Army gets closer to attack the remnants of the Korean Second Company and the US Army soldiers, Jang Woo requests the Battalion Headquarters to fire within the position.
In order to save his men, Jang Woo decides to lead his men back North, towards Pyeong Yang. Tae Ho argues that he is not doing that for the sake to save his men, but to use them as a human shield to help him get back to Soo Yeon.
Tae Ho stands as a testifier at Soo Yeon's hearing and states that he was affected by her doings, but also states that if it hadn't been for her, none of the soldiers in the Korean Armed Forces would have gotten treatment.
Both the Korean Armed Forces and their allied forces are in the run to get to Pyeong Yang first to win the honor of becoming a war hero. While advancing to the North, the Korean Armed Forces mistaken the US Armed Forces as their enemy and attack them.
Soo Yeon is told that her brother, Soo Hyuk, will be leaving for Pyeong Yang in his sick condition. She knows what will happen to her brother if she does not go with him, so she decides to get on the boat, and once again, leave Jang Woo's side.
