Nine chefs vie for the chance to open up a restaurant in Las Vegas by competing in challenges that take them to cities across the U.S., where their culinary and business skills are put to the test by host Robert Irvine.
The three remaining chefs each get to run a food truck in a challenge that requires them to serve people at three different locations, including a zoo, an upscale shopping center and an area known for its nightlife.
Budgeting skills are tested when the four remaining contestants are given $1000 and an empty restaurant to create a supper club. Plus, they have the chance to bid on items for their dinner service at an auction, but they need to make sure they have enough money left to purchase food and supplies.
The bus takes the remaining five contestants to Balboa Pier in New Beach, Cal., where they each must open up a concession stand featuring a burger, dessert and something on a stick. Also: They have to produce a commercial that could win them an advantage when it comes time to lure in customers.
The contestants arrive in Temecula, Cal., where they are given the task of coming up with a restaurant that would succeed amongst the competition. Later, they test their concepts at a lunch fair attended by locals.
Nine chefs arrive in Las Vegas in the premiere of this reality competition, which finds them vying for the chance to win their own Sin City restaurant. First up: Host Robert Irvine asks the competitors to pitch their eatery concepts, which they then get to execute in just six hours and with a budget of $500.
