Host Jeff Corwin heads to the rain forests of Costa Rica to experience some of the fascinating and mysterious animals that call it their home. Jeff travels to La Tirimbina Biological Reserve, a 345-hectare protected mid-elevation forest that focuses on environmental education and scientific research. While at the refuge, Jeff will join renowned bat biologist and University of Costa Rica professor Bernal Rodriguez Herrera and two of his students as they work with a variety of mammal species.
Jeff Corwin travels to Alaska, and connects with some of its iconic animal species. He visits the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where he gets a chance to interact with calves and adult moose; a curious baby Sitka deer; rescued musk ox calves; and a porcupine.
Jeff and some of Georgia Aquarium's staff take a journey around the world as they join a variety of critical research and conservation projects. Jeff and Dennis Christen join a team of biologists from the Alaska SeaLife Center and other facilities in their quest to help the endangered Steller sea lions in Alaska. Jeff then travels with Matt Denny to Hawaii to work with Robin Baird and his team in their work to unravel the mysteries of whales and dolphins off the Kona coast.
Jeff journeys to the majestic Prince William Sound in Alaska where he joins a team of biologists working to unravel the mysteries of the giant Pacific octopus. Jeff works with Kelley Voss in her research to study the social behavior of this cephalopod species and joins Professor David Scheel and his students as they conduct surveys along the beach during the low tide. Jeff then dives into the icy cold waters to explore their habitat and has a close encounter with one of these creatures.
Jeff Corwin travels to Thailand to join the efforts of a group of conservationists fighting to protect the amazing and endangered sea turtles that make these beaches and oceans their home. Jeff joins Dr. Kongkiat Kittiwattanawong and his staff as they work to rehabilitate Olive Ridley turtles critically injured by marine debris; heal and release back to the wild an injured hawksbill turtle; and even release a generation of head started green sea turtles along the beaches of Phuket.
Jeff travels to the rainforests of Costa Rica to explore the world of sloths, the country's most iconic resident. Jeff visits the Sloth Sanctuary where they rescue and rehabilitate injured and orphaned sloths. Jeff meets Buttercup, a 23 year-old three-toed sloth; gets a chance to feed and play with baby sloths; works alongside the veterinarians helping the injured sloths; and teams up with zoologist Becky as she conducts her research to better understand the lives of these animals.
Jeff travels to the islands of Hawaii to explore their beauty and meet extraordinary animals. Jeff meets up with Robin Baird and his team in their research to unravel the mysteries of the melonheaded whales off the Kona Coast. Jeff joins shark biologists in their work to track and better understand the tiger shark off the Maui coast. Jeff dives alongside biologist and expert rebreather diver Rich Pyle to explore ecosystems. Jeff encounters the magnificent and spectacular manta rays.
Jeff Corwin embarks on a journey to Round Island in Bristol Bay, Alaska, to see the mighty walrus. Jeff travels with Dennis Christen from Georgia Aquarium and together they join Lori Polasek from the Alaska SeaLife Center in their mission to protect this island sanctuary.
