The Montecito's guests get spooked when some of them have ghostly encounters. Could the place be haunted by Monica's spirit? Elsewhere, the casino cooks up a grand-opening celebration for Wolfgang Puck's new in-house restaurant; and Sam tries to prove she's the best casino host in Vegas. Puck makes an appearance, as do snowboarders Gretchen Bleiler, Ross Powers and Kelly Clark.
When an eye-opening $2.9 million irregularity is discovered in the casino's auditing report, the ensuing investigation points to the late Monica Mancuso as the culprit. Meanwhile, Danny's former marine sergeant (Dale Dye) is signed on as a staffer, but his hard-nosed style rubs people the wrong way; and Mike, a meteorologist wannabe, gets an opportunity to report the weather.
The Montecito gears up to host a car show. Serving as a celebrity judge is NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, who really revs up Mary and Delinda. Meanwhile, Danny and Mike come face-to-face with an urban legend when they discover a man with a missing kidney in a hotel bathtub; and Sam meets a man who has a bad case of sweaty palms.
Monica's friend (Sarah Ann Morris) finds a finger in the Montecito's buffet bounty. She doesn't want to sue, but she does want Danny. Danny hunts down a chip thief who reveals that a mysterious someone is plotting to blow up the Montecito. One of Sam's wealthiest clients plans to get married at the Montecito in a multimillion-dollar wedding that will make Donald Trump's nuptials look like “hot wings and Schlitz.” But complications arise when the $100,000 wedding dress goes missing. Meanwhile, the surveillance crew investigates a team of potential cheaters; and Mike flirts with a woman who, unbeknownst to him, is attending a Born-Again Virgins convention.
Danny and Mike probe serial robberies in the casino's residential suites and also find time to serve as models for a charity beefcake calendar. Meanwhile, Jillian (Cheryl Ladd) is alarmed when she discovers her marriage to Ed may have adversely affected Delinda. Robert Wagner guest stars, along with Hal Sparks and Brooke Burke.
Romance begins to bloom between Danny and Delinda, to their utmost surprise. But keeping the relationship tight-lipped proves difficult, particularly when Jillian (Cheryl Ladd) flies in Delinda's old college flame (Shawn Christian).
