Jail, No Bail

The "jail, no bail" sit-in strategy first employed in 1961 Rock Hill, S.C., in protest of the McCrory five and dime's segregated lunch counter is commemorated. Eight Friendship Junior College students and another protester chose a 30-day jail sentence over paying a $100 fine, thus becoming known as the Friendship Nine. Narrator: Keith David.
