The sitcom didn't amount to much, but it did at least go out in style: The last episode ended with Daniel Hugh-Kelly, in character, announcing the show's cancellation, followed by the cast and crew saying goodbye to viewers.

As her parents struggle with the challenges of their new life, Bow and her siblings navigate a mainstream school in which they're perceived as neither black nor white.
